Well, the unimaginable has happened. In January, a maniacal misogynistic racist who was elected on his promises to build a wall with Mexico, ignore global warming, dismantle Roe v. Wade, repeal Obamacare, commit war crimes against "terrorists," force other countries to pay for protection, withdraw from TPP, elminate gun-free zones in schools and on military bases, and suspend Syrian refugee resettlement, will become the most powerful man in the world. Beside him will be haunted, wormy apple carving Mike Pence, who believes in gay conversion therapy and has promised to remove the Obama Administration's protections against Transgender student discrimination. His director of African American Outreach will be... Omarosa.
This is no dream, this is real.
The mourning period for this election will be long, but if you are a progressive, or really anything other than a straight cis white man, you will need to prepare to fight for the next four years to protect our basic human rights, our country, and our planet. We're in this together, and we will need each other's empathy, solidarity, strength, humor, and courage to make it through this national nightmare. We will also need each other's cold hard cash.
We've compiled a list of charities below that protect the people and the values most threatened by the suffocating orange fog that slowly envelops us - set up a recurring donation today.
