PREMIERE: F. Virtue Gets Nostalgic In New Track "The Hawk and The Leopard"

By Peyton Dix

For this monthly dose of F. Virtue (Will Kowall), the emo rapper of our dreams reminisces on former friendships in "The Hawk and The Leopard." The song was produced by Life Size Maps's Sean Thornton and IMAGIST (aka Mike McKeever).

The track acutely confronts the difficulties of maintaining relationships after the reality of time and space has taken it's tole on them. The hook "we keep going forward, we keep going forward, but I don't really want to... I was fine there" is a testament to this human nature of longing for the past juxtaposed with the need to move on. For Kowall the track specifically stems from the dissolving of Fameless Fam, an art collective started by his college friends that they "thought would last forever."

Listen to the evocative track below and try not to call your ex-boyfriend.
