What do you get when you combine two massive indie artists for one big reimagining of an already-killer track? Baltimore-based electro-weirdo
Dan Deacon's high-velocity flip of YACHT's slick "Ringtone", that's what.
Taken from the LA duo's
recent remix EP, PAPER favorite Deacon gives the original 80s-inspired jam an abrasive, patchwork revamp, making it quite the trip and a half -- which is no small feat considering it's all packed into just under five minutes. Or as YACHT themselves say, "This is the sound of our favorite 21st century comrade, Dan Deacon, channeling our favorite 20th century composer, Steve Reich. Listen to it through your phone speakers with the volume all the way up; we can't promise it won't kill Siri."
Listen to the entire track in full below, and rest assured, it's definitely no dialtone.
YACHT's I Thought the Cooler Would Be Future remix EP is available for purchase now. Catch them on tour with M83.
