Our Lord and Savior D'Angelo has just announced that he's working on a "companion piece" to last year's mind-blowing Black Messiah.
His first record in 14 (long, sad, sex-less) years, Black Messiah was a fresh, funky mix of political sentiment, psyched-out guitarwork and darkwave dirge, all layered atop D'Angelo's tendency toward sensual slow burners. And if we're lucky, Part Two will be much of the same way -- after all, these songs are allegedly the leftovers from the original BM sessions.
Praise be his name, for R&B Jesus has risen.
