Powerful A Cold Wind In August On DVD-On-Demand

Now available on Twentieth Century Fox Entertainment's DVD-on-demand line is A Cold Wind In August (MGM), a powerful 1961 film with a truly great performance by Lola Albright as an older burlesque stripper who has an affair with her super's 17-year-old son (Scott Marlowe) with tragic results. Directed by Alexander Singer and based on a novel by Burton Wohl, this got high praise from critics like Pauline Kael at the time but is hardly ever on TV. Albright's performance is brave, fierce and heartbreaking.
