Patrick Church Paints Dresses Live at Opening Ceremony

Patrick Church, the London-bred designer who creates custom hand-painted pieces, opted out of a traditional runway format for NYFW. Instead, this season's presentation was more like live performance art, as he painted a silk white dress for two hours in front of a crowd inside Soho's Opening Ceremony store.

Titled "Pour Myself Onto You," Church did just that, pouring his signature faces onto a blank gown, with her dramatically oversized lips and heavy eye makeup. The designer-artist was accompanied by an opera singer, and flanked by his two core muses — Cory Walker and Anaury — both wearing original head-to-toe looks by Church.
