Turned Ten... So We Threw an Art Fag Party Called MANHATTAN!

When the cool cats behind PAPERMAG throw a party, you best believe that party's gonna be fly. The occasion? Ten glorious years of In honor of this landmark event (think back to 10 years ago -- did you even know the Internet existed in 1995?), our lovely and talented creative director, Carol Lee, curated an art show featuring the works of over 75 New York-based artists who were instructed to submit work portraying the "people of New York." Champagne (thanks to Red Bull!) and Amstel Light quenched the collective thirst of the beautiful masses as they ogled and gawked at the many, many works of art that covered the walls of 100 Lafayette. Luminaries about town like Alan Vega, James Iha, Ricky Powell, Leo Fitzpatrick, Ryan McGinley, Arthur Weinstein, Bilal, Jeffrey Deitch, Jessica Craig-Martin, Gaby Hoffmann and Andrew WK stopped by to see what was what. At around 10ish, folks moved to China Chalet for the after-party where the mood was both chill and celebratory -- chillatory, if you will.
