PAPER Presents: A Guide to Small Business Saturday in New York

At Paper, we've always supported and championed small businesses. Since printing our first issue in 1984, we've remained independently owned and operated, and consider ourselves a small business, with our very own "mom and pop"-- the magazine's editors/founders Kim Hastreiter and David Hershkovits.

We were excited then to team up with the folks at American Express to put together a guide to Small Business Saturday, a shopping event taking place nationwide on Nov. 26th, wherein thousands of independently owned restaurants, bars, boutiques, salons, record stores, bookstores, etc. will open their doors to the public and offer special deals -- from discounts, to free cookies and mulled wines, to performances -- the day after Black Friday. The NYC guide is free for you to download here (check back next week for SF and Chicago). Peep it, print it out, put it in your pocket, and run around town -- from Stuart & Wright and Fort Greene, to Life: Curated in Williamsburg, to McNally Jackson in NoLita, to Wool & the Gang in SoHo, to Little Oven in Long Island City, to Casa Della Mozzarella in The Bronx, to Rollerjam USA in Staten Island -- supporting the quirky and beloved independent shops that make this town so special.
