Who are you?

I'm Juan Alvear and I live in NYC.

What do you do?

I'm an artist.

What are you most proud of from 2018?

Graduating from Cooper Union.

What do you think will be your biggest challenge in 2019?

The biggest challenge I see going forward is expanding my world of nails and joining it with my other practices like sculpture and painting, legibly. But this is also one of the things I'm most excited about.

What do you think will be your biggest opportunity in 2019?

There are so many possibilities and I'm excited for all of them. I think 2019, being my first year since graduating will be a year to really make things happen. I'm excited to meet new people and start building my own life and reality.
