If you're a style-savvy girl-about-town, chances are that you put a considerable amount of thought into what you wear out of the house every morning -- from the bag that matches the coat, to the shoes that match the skirt. But how much of that thought goes into whether your bra happens to go with your underwear, or whether you should wear black lace or pink satin? Lingerie, though it's the first thing that goes on and the last thing that comes off, usually takes a backseat to other feminine fetishes like shoes and purses. Now it's time for skivvies to have their moment in the sun. We checked in with three girls and three guys to get their takes thongs vs. bikini-cut, Victoria's Secret vs. Agent Provocateur and other pressing lingerie-related issues.

Preferred underwear: bikini-cut or thong?
Bikini. I've never really been a huge fan of the self-induced wedgie.
What is the ratio of how much time you spend in the morning picking out what outfit to wear to how much time you spend picking out what underwear (bra and panties) to wear?
50 to 1? 100 to 1? While I enjoy piecing together outfits in the morning, I can't say that underwear plays a huge role in the getting-ready process.
What are your favorite places to shop for underwear/lingerie?
Gap Body bras are so comfortable, and the price points are reasonable. I've tried shopping elsewhere, but I always end up going back to my Gap Body bras because the fit is always perfect. Vanity Fair, which you can find at most department stores, has really good strapless bras. Victoria's Secret has comfortable bikini-cut bottoms, and Hanky Panky -- sold at Bergdorf Goodman -- has some really cute stuff as well.
Does what you're wearing underneath your clothes give you a boost of confidence?
It's not something I think about much, but sure... when I played high school lacrosse, I had specific game-day undies that were supposed to be good luck. I suppose that counts.
What is the most you'd ever pay for a lingerie piece?
I'm really not sure. After interning for Bergdorf Goodman's lingerie buyer, I realized how much focus is placed on details and quality -- which makes me appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into lingerie much more than I did before. However, I'm still on a student budget -- which, sadly, means no La Perla for me. Any bra over $50 or so would make me start to cringe... and I am all about the 3-for-$20 bottoms deals!
