It's only the second time that Ottolinger has shown on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar, but already, the label is becoming a classic for its updated take on distressed, sporty pieces. Swiss design duo Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient are based in Berlin but show in Paris, and that mix of cultures and aesthetics seems to show through in their work too. The inspiration behind the collection this season was the Chinese book and novel Three Body Problem. Here's everything you need to know about the fall 2019 show.

Glitchy Plaids
The collection opened up with several plaid pieces — but these weren't your mother's tartans. Edges were raw and other pieces of fabric were patched together alongside glitchy plaid prints.
Diagonal Cuts
Ottolinger created dynamic silhouettes by cutting pieces to be diagonal rather than in conventional shapes. Jackets and unzipped dresses looked like they had gone slightly askew with these twists.
Exposed Zips
Exposed almost threadbare zippers in various colors were shown on coats, hanging off pants and lining knee-high leggings.
Vinyl
In brilliant lime green and classic black, fabrics which mimicked vinyl made a debut. Paired with granny reading glasses, the look was all about contrasts.
Distressed Silks
Toward the end of the collection, a couple of distressed silky outfits were on display. With exposed zippers and misplaced folds, the wrinkle effect was a chic textural end note.
