Opening Ceremony's Carol Lim and Humberto Leon plunged into the Asian market back in August 2009 when they opened an offshoot of their the definitive downtown boutique in the heart of Tokyo. Now, Lim and Leon are continuing their Far East expansion thorough a creative partnership with Beijing's leading specialty luxury store Lane Crawford. For four weeks starting now, OC is taking over Crawford's 82,000 square-foot Hong Kong boutique and transforming it into an extension of their New York City operation. This marks the first time an entire Crawford boutique has been curated by specially appointed partners -- and, of course, the results couldn't have been better. The visually stunning make-over brings a healthy dose of American idolatry with a dash of Opening Ceremony quirk: a New York street scene has been recreated in the Women's Atrium; the shoes and accessories parlor is now an homage to Broadway complete with kicking Rockette legs; the men's floor has been re-designed with a Hollywood-inspired look. To mark the special occasion, OC is launching an exclusive Opening Ceremony x Lane Crawford capsule featuring some of the boutique's best-selling items refashioned in new colors and fabrics. (For those of us who won't be traveling abroad anytime soon, all is not lost. The collab is also available for purchase online. )The capsule will also include work with key American designers including Alexander Wang stripped t-shirts, Band of Outsiders limited-edition ties, dresses by Suno and skull necklaces by Pamela Love. OC's much-loved lines with Pendleton, Chloë Sevigny, Repetto and Rodarte will all be available at Lane Crawford for the month as well. Color us jealous!
