Neneh Cherry & The Thing's "Accordion" Is Our Music Video of the Day

Gary Pini

Most of you are probably a little too young to remember Neneh Cherry, but we do. In fact she was on the cover of PAPER Magazine in February, 1993, and she's releasing a new album called The Cherry Thing this summer. Welcome back, Neneh!  She was born in Sweden and was the step-daughter of the American jazz musician Don Cherry. While living in the UK, she became a part of the "Buffalo" crew of musicians, stylists and designers that was popular in London in the '80s. Her hit single about that scene, "Buffalo Stance," went to #3 on the U.S. pop chart in 1988.  Here she's doing a cover version of an MF Doom/Madlib track called "Accordion" in a video that looks like it was shot with night-vision goggles.
