Monique Lhuillier collaborated with Tony Duquette to create some dramatic baubles for her Fall 2010 presentation yesterday. New York collections don't typically include big time jewels on the catwalk, but Lhullier more than made up for the absence. We hit backstage before the show to check out the dresses and the jewels that'd be accompanying them. (Take a look in the gallery above.) The Tony Duquette team said that Lhuillier communicates with them closely as she designs the collection and, for this line, they discussed the Chinese warrior, crimson red, and the strong, dramatic vision she was working toward. Together they selected choice pieces from the Tony Duquette vaults -- and created specialty ones for the show. Lots of gold, citrine, tiger's eye and amythest. Personal fave? The art deco-inspired onyx, 18-carat gold and diamond chunky bangle. Yes please!
