Models on Picnic Tables for the Gilded Age SS10 Presentation

Luigi Tadini

A fall breeze, beer and a jazz quartet greeted guests yesterday afternoon at The Yard at Soho Grand for the Gilded Age SS10 presentation. The collection inspired by the ease of life in the coastal cities of CA and the preppy dunes of Cape Cod oozed charm and captured the simple pleasures of a sunny getaway. The layered looks, mostly in pale blues and earth tones, are ideal for those seeking fitted renditions of classic menswear. Perfectly cut oxford shirts, roomy seersucker cotton pants and versatile Henley hoodies were only some of the separates on display. The groomed models stood on picnic tables as menswear editors gathered to gawk at designer’s Stefan Miljanic trademark details. Chambray and plaid complemented the palette, appearing in shorts and shirts as well as trimmings and linings. Two cropped unstructured suits heightened the otherwise laid-back collection. The choice of fabrics, colors and worn-in styles are evidence that Miljanic’s brand continues to focus on producing clothes that men love to wear and delivers what it sets out to do -- finely cut pieces that are irresistibly boyish. A good start to the spring viewings.
