Fashion, as an industry, has always been a home for the gay community, whether we're talking about designers, muses, or models. Now, even more so, it's become a progressive place for the trans members of the LGBTQ community as well, with models like Hari Nef on the rise.

Andreja Pejic is one of the earliest forerunners In 2011, she made a splash as an androgynous male model who walked in both mens- and womenswear shows, sometimes appearing in both for a single designer. Among the catwalks she appeared on were Marc Jacobs and Jean Paul Gaultier. In 2014, she identified as a transwoman. "Every day is like a new revelation," she told People magazine about her transition. "I'm more comfortable than ever. I feel at a 100 percent."
