Miuccia Prada’s fresh, whimsical spring/summer 2010 collection has the unmistakable whiff of travels abroad. Charcoal puffed shorts and cropped, A-lined trench tops -- made with a sleek nylon material evocative of a scuba diving suit -- added an edge to the otherwise couture-y mood. Fishnet tunics made with huge, Venice chandelier beads, however, were too heavy, too suggestive, and too gaudy. Printed skirts and coats showing seasides and other vacation destinations in dizzy, saturated prints will surely be in demand among both globetrotters and homebodies alike. Accessories were plexi and transparent. Models sported nothing-to-hide bags, towering heels, and acid-yellow eye-of-the-fly sunglasses, suggesting that Mrs. Prada has a clear vision of the future.
