Once again, Kaiser Karl played to his own tune. Opposed to the city slick of Versace, Gucci and Pucci (where not a single thread, or hair, was left out of place), Lagerfeld leads us to the boudoir for his Spring/Summer line, turning clothes into lingerie. Despite the fact that his collection "was all unfinished" -- Mr. Lagerfeld's own quotes -- and models' locks were all thrown into hurried chignons, the collection was sophisticated. The line's color range was reminiscent of the pastel powders and rouges one might find strewn across a vanity.
