Miaou Pops Up on the Lower East Side

Miaou, founded by Paris-born, Los Angeles-based designer Alexia Elkaim back in 2017, is beloved by models and influencers; their pants just fit so well. High-profile fans include the likes of Kendall Jenner, Ashley Graham, Paloma Elsesser (a close friend of the designer), Bella Hadid, and Selena Gomez. Lady Gaga even sported a pair of Miaou's best-selling jeans during the most pivotal scene in A Star Is Born; she belts "Shallow" while clad in a pair of Elkaim's "Tommy" pinstripe jeans, introducing the world to the "OoooOwAAAh-AAAAH" sound that would go one to be stuck in our heads for months. Last year, designer told us that she was "very moved" by Gaga's performance. Weren't we all!

Elkaim makes sweet, trendy, flattering clothing that feels pretty impossible to resist. And so we're glad that she's teaming up with Lower East Side vintage emporium Procell for a pop-up in NYC this weekend, running from September 13th through the 15th (the store is sponsored by Bumble, which makes a certain kind of sense — Elkaim makes great date clothes). The pop-up will feature Miaou's latest collection, which is full of eye-popping graphic prints designed by high-profile nail artist Madeline Poole.

"I find jeans quite boring," Elkaim told The Faderlast summer. "I'm such a vintage girl — my aesthetic has always been dresses and romantic, sexy shapes, and I never saw that in denim. I thought, Why not make a pair for myself that I wear all the time?"

The store is open from 12 PM to 7 PM, perfect for late-to-rise party girls. Check out exclusive images from Miaou's lookbook, below.
