LVMH Has Launched Clos19, an E-Commerce Site Dedicated to the 'Art of Hosting'

Last Thursdaya mix of New Yorkers from fashion, art, media, music and other creative industries gathered for a dinner party to celebrate the launch of Clos19, a new e-commerce site by LVMH dedicated to the 'art of hosting.' Founder and CEO Stephanie Watine Arnault hosted the night alongside three co-hosts -- Derek Blasberg, Cecilia Dean and Heron Preston -- who each presided over separate (and separately-themed) dinner parties-within-a dinner party at a gallery space in Chelsea. Over a dinner of black cod and burrata along with, of course, copious glasses of wine and champagne from LVMH's portfolio, guests learned a bit more about Clos19. Launched in the U.S. last week (they already have a presence in the UK and Germany), Arnault says the site aims to bring access to "bottles of champagne, wine and spirits" to consumers via licensed retailers facilitated by Thirstie through its independent retailer network as well as offering "accessories around the 'perfect serve' and experiences." Of the last, these experiences may include the ability to bring a sommelier or mixologist to your dinner party as well as trips to explore terroir as varied as New Zealand and Antarctica. (In this last case, the trip is to explore how wines and spirits change depending on where you drink them.)Available now for consumers in New York and California, Arnault says the site has plans to expand to more states in 2018.
