Atlanta emo rapper and defender of the phrase, "It's not a phase, mom," Lil Uzi Vert, does not do interviews. Even when he does, he doesn't like it, so seeing Uzi Vert hit the red carpet and forced to answer the mundane "where to from here?"-type questions from journalists who likely know next-to-nothing about him is truly a treat.
First came E! Network's Giuliana Rancic, which must have been somewhat of a harrowing experience. After kicking off with, "How are you feeling?" ("normal," Uzi Vert replied) she actually ended the interview with a what's-next-for-you and was truly shook at his reply. Likely because it involved pop tarts.
Then came this pure joy. The reporter fumbles and manages to salvage somewhat of a conversation while commending Uzi Vert on remaining true to himself (granted, red carpets are the depths of hell so hats off to both the talent and journalists who take them on), and the rapper returns with a powerful monologue about the fact he can do anything he sets his mind to.
Too precious.
May we pray for more Lil Uzi Vert content in 2018 — also, pray for his publicist.
