After 18 seasons of hard-boiled over-the-edge thrillers, the 29th St. Rep is staging its first flat-out comedy. Written by Ian Cohen, this play is about a Jewish family in Queens, whose two grown brothers rival for their mother's love. Mom is manipulative, has dementia and maybe a secret fortune. Son Lenny is a wannabe musician with a hypersexual wife, and his brother Lou is an introverted accountant. The bickering leads to attempted murder, sex outside of marriage and indecent exposure.

29th St. Rep., 212 W. 29th St., (212) 868-4444. Previews Jan. 19. Opens Jan. 26.
