Paper's Hunter Hill along with partner Perry Moore have done an admiral job on their first feature about an estranged son, Billy (Troy Garity), who returns home to the Virginia farm owned by his mother (Sissy Spacek) with a small boy in tow. The relationship between Billy and his mother has long been strained as the result of a past family tragedy, but when a ruthless drug dealer (Dave Matthews) shows up looking for missing cocaine -- stolen by the boy's mom (Drea de Matteo) -- mother and son unite to navigate their way out of a dangerous situation. Garity is very sympathetic and Dave Matthews is surprising as the oily thug. But what can you say about Sissy Spacek that hasn't already been said? Well done, all.
