L.A. Fashion Week Report: A Quick Chit-Chat With Macy Gray at the Nonja Show

J. Everette Perry

Nonja is known as a stylist to the stars, but last week she was known as the queen of the cocktail dress. For her runway show, she whipped up little crystal studded dresses, sexy leopard mini jumpers, and an array of colorful flirty thigh-high silhouettes. Her collection of sheer beaded dresses could hold their own as tops (if you are a brave woman daring to be daring) or they could play the role of a stunning cover-up for an evening pool party. As I walked up to my seat, I saw none other than Macy Gray, one of Nonja's clients. I asked her a couple questions and the raspy-voiced singer was kind enough to respond.

How do you like Nonja's collection?
I love Nonja -- she is a really hip, fun and chic!

So what's the last song you downloaded?
I was searching the net and came across one of my own songs "Slap a Bitch" that I haven't even released yet, and I downloaded it because I wanted to hear how it sounded.

I notice you are wearing your Tretorns -- are they comfy?
I love these shoes; they just sent them to me. They had some crazy-ass high-tops that were even hotter.

In addition to the 'torns, Macy was wearing a denim shirt by Gucci, Tom Ford sunglasses (the only man she would marry), and a Christian Audigier T-shirt.
