When Karl Lagerfeld's Fall Winter 2017 collection walked down the runway earlier today, it was stuffed with classic Chanel elements, like pearls, tweed, and quilting, but it also included a nod to modern technology with it's emoji-print fabric. Peppered through the collection on blouses, jackets, skirts, and bags, the fabric featured the brands linked-C logo, peace-sign and thumbs-up hands, the four-leaf clover, the cherry blossom, and a washed-out kitten head that looked suspiciously like Lagerfeld's favorite feline and muse, Choupette.

This should come as no surprise. Karl is hip to what the kids of today are into. He even released his own emoji app in 2014, called emotiKarl.

At the show, Chanel also announced that it had recruited Willow Smith as the newest brand ambassador, a position which mainly consists of wearing Chanel clothes and attending Chanel events. Past ambassadors have included Blake Lively and Kristen Stewart, and fellow preciocious teens Elle Fanning and Lily-Rose Depp. While this was the first Chanel show she's attended, Willow's an old hand with high fashion, starring in ads for Marc Jacobs last year and covering i-D. In an Instagram post, she thanked Chanel for choosing her and "expanding the perceptions of 'beauty.'"
