Kanye West is America's most important modern contemporary artist and his Twitter feed is his canvas. Today, he informed the world that his social media stream of consciousness isn't just his thoughts but an ongoing, evolving art piece. Also, he thought about setting up an Instagram (!!!) but the demands of the great uninspired masses might muzzle his artistic voice.

So we have some gentle pleas to share with everyone. To the curators of the Whitney Museum of American Art: Please consider installing a constantly-updating feed of Kanye's masterwork. Don't sleep on this long-running piece of performance art.

And to the rest of us: Leave Kanye alone! We need 'Yestagram and the endless feed of cool couches and shoes it will inevitably give us.
