Jeweled Crystal Bras Stole the Show at JW Anderson

Jonathan Anderson continues to show in London for his JW Anderson label, a fitting choice since his designs have always gravitated toward an off-kilter, whimsical approach that young British creatives are known for. For Spring 2020, however, a much more sophisticated take on his experimental sensibility took hold here, with exquisitely tailored coats, effortless draping and sumptuous knits all balancing out his more playful elements such as crystal bras worn outwards and daisies embroidered on the bust. Here's everything else you need to know about the collection.

Statement Bra

Jeweled crystal bras were tied with rope straps, which were worn outwards for a decorative, kitschy touch. Big matching belts were also made of crystals, and were worn low one one side of the hip.

Single Sleeve

Wearing two sleeves is so this decade. For 2020, it's all about the single sleeve, bonus points if it's big, puffy and billowy.

Two Toned

His sweeping coats showed off Anderson's tailoring genius. Giant lapels came in contrasting colors for a bold touch.

Handkerchief Hems

Dresses in multi-layered, handkerchief hems moved effortlessly on the runway. Some small details made all the difference too, such as frayed edges and contrast piping.

TurtleKnits

Some of the standout pieces included knit turtleneck dresses with long sleeves and fluid skirt. Swaths of tiny fringe decorated the bottom half, which moved fluidly down the runway.
