The iconic horror filmmaker and accomplished musician has shared a live video of him and his band performing his new song 'Distant Dream,' at Village Recorder Studios in Los Angeles.

Taken from his album Lost Themes II--the followup to his debut Lost Themes--the clip (directed by Carpenter) finds him, his son, Cody Carpenter, godson Daniel Davis, John Konesky, John Spiker, and Scott Seiver jamming the fuck out.

The massive, 80s metal-inspired song is heavy on the bass and synth; it's hard not to picture an overhead tracking shot of a vast landscape in one of Carpenter's legendary films.

Mr. Carpenter and his band will embark on a world tour, that kicks off May 27th in Athens, Greece.

Lost Themes II is out April 14th.
