From the very beginning, style has been an essential element in Janelle Monáe's career. The musician, actress, and interdimensional being, like her mentor Prince, really, really knows how to dress. She always kills it, whether she's in one of her trademark tuxedos or a full red carpet gown. And so it's been a delight to see her tooling around Paris Fashion Week, where she seems to be having more fun than anybody else. These photos of her and Oprah at Stella McCartney's fall 2019 show are among some of the most #blessed ever taken.
These images are truly blessed. #pfw https://t.co/YRzhvNqUlW
Monáe has made the rounds to several fashion shows, including McCartney, Thom Browne, Giambattista Valli, Tommy x Zendaya, and Valentino. Looks for each, styled by Alexandra Mandelkorn, have been showstopping. Monáe has sported some trademark all black-and-white outfits, adding a pop of color with neon-bright blue eyeshadow. Browne dressed her in one his signature short suits, her hair in buns adorned with strings of pearls. Monáe also embraced red, appropriately wearing an all-crimson look (including a beret and matching Mary Janes) to Valentino (the house's slightly lower-priced line is called REDValentino).
All of her outfits were gorgeous. But what's really special is the joy infused in the photos, the kind of joy not always seen at fashion month. I love just looking at them! Check out all of Monáe's Paris Fashion Week outfits, below.
