It's My Birthday and I'll Write If I Want To.

Martin Marks

On Tuesday night at the Soho Grand Hotel, Matt Kays and Andrew Mukamal played host to an event most dear to my heart, the fifth anniversary of the fourth anniversary of the twenty-first anniversary of my entrance into this world (i.e., my birthday, though I refuse to name which one).

With special guest DJ Annebet Duvall spinning in the Club Room, among those who came out to celebrate were designer Prabal Gurung, illustrator Richard Haines, Lucky magazine's Simone Kitchens and Ray Siegel, writer Johnny Misheff, Kelechi Odu, Michael Krueger, Jessica Janik, Zain Surmawala, my one Republican friend and sometimes arch-nemesis Anthony Paletta, provider of the Cadbury's Creme Eggs that have been my breakfast and dinner ever since Charly Stewart, with Hanuk taking the photographs that appear above. (No kittens were harmed.)

And while my stated birthday goal of making #BouncyCastle a trending topic on Twitter never came to fruition, it certainly was a treat to spend the evening surrounded by friends, both old and new.
