In L.A. This Weekend? Check out Dueling Harps Feat. Ann Magnuson and Adam Dugas

Ann Magnuson

Ann Magnuson (aka LA Woman) here inviting all PAPER blog readers in or around LA to attend Dueling Harps, my show with former PAPER cover boy Adam Dugas. The show is at the fabulous REDCAT performance space adjacent to the even more fabulous Disney Concert Hall this weekend, Friday and Saturday, Oct 17 & 18, at 8:30 p.m.

Celebrate Halloween early with hot harp-on-harp action during this darkly elegant evening of gorgeous melodies with a theatrical flourish. Adam and I will face off on vocals as Alexander Rannie and Mia Theodoratus strum their harps in this twisted match of musical one-upmanship. Our quartet thrusts and parries with an arsenal of tunes ranging from the ridiculous to the sublime: psychedelic calls to prayer, Henry Purcell's Baroque art songs, Kraftwerk, The Shaggs, Lee Hazlewood and Pink Floyd, as well as original songs by my former bands Bongwater and Vulcan Death Grip (you can listen to the VDG's "hit" Holiday in Hell currently playing on my Myspace. There will be blood. And puppets too.
