It's now officially, finally okay to wear sunglasses in the club. That's because renowned style icon and house DJ Honey Dijon just dropped a collab with Ray-Ban — a new collection of shades for the ages, literally.
The Honey Dijon x Ray-Ban Studios capsule collection features three frames inspired by different decades. The "Olympian Aviator" white frames bring out the spirit of the '60s while the "Square 1973" — a geometric red pair with pink lenses — pay tribute to the disco era. The "24K gold-plated Wings II" is a clear shoutout to '80s extravagance, or, for a more modern reference, envision Lady Gaga's dark, monochromatic TheFame Monster era, painted shimmering gold.
"I wanted to tell a story about the decades I love the most. The '60s which was a huge turning point for social revolution, civil rights and Black empowerment, '70s disco, and the decadent excess of the '80s," Dijon told Dazed.
Dijon's Ray-Ban collab follows the launch of her namesake brand with Comme Des Garçons earlier this year. When her CDG partnership first launched, Dijon wrote in an Instagram post that, "As a trans woman of color I'd never imagined that this would be possible." She also thanked the brand for "allowing me to represent my culture, community, and love of house music."
Honey Dijon's sunglasses collection will be available on Ray-Ban.com and in flagship stores starting October 14.
