At Victor Barragàn's Spring 2020 presentation this NYFW, the queer designer presented a spectacular series of looks all inspired by the downtown Mexico City club scene. And while many experiment with more traditional winged eyeliners or dramatic lip shades at NYFW, Barragàn toyed with a particularly unexplored idea for beauty: Hickies.

Among this season's sheer party dresses dresses and cutout tops, were models walking with large red hickies slapped across their necks and chests, all paying homage to club experiences in their youth. The cheeky detail, however, wasn't of its own making but created by makeup artist Marcelo Gutierrez as part of the show's overarching theme of party culture.
The hickies were accompanied by a customized set of dark circles, dewy skin, and dark red and black eyeshadows carefully smeared across the lids and under the eyes. Finishing the sexy look were chic hair clips that neatly pulled back models' hair, courtesy of hairstylist, Matthew Curtis, which Barragàn added was inspired by "the mom hair-clip look."
