Phew, Gordo Is Returning to 'Lizzie McGuire'

There are so many nostalgic TV shows in the works right now that it's hard to know which to get more excited about. A gritty HBO Gossip Girl sounds lit, as does a new All That cast. And here's a reason to heavily anticipate the Disney+ revival of The Lizzie McGuire Show: Gordo!

Millennials everywhere breathed sighs of relief when Hilary Duff revealed this morning that Lizzie's best friend and much-shipped love interest will be returning to the series, played by original actor Adam Lamberg.

"Gordo was an essential piece of the puzzle to what made the original Lizzie McGuire so authentic and beloved," Duff told E!. "I couldn't imagine the series without him. I can't wait for fans to see what he's up to 15 years later and how he fits into Lizzie's adult world."

On Instagram Duff shared an adorable pic of her and Lamberg on set, looking surprisingly hip, no offense. Does Lizzie shop at Opening Ceremony these days? Love that for her. Lamberg, meanwhile, has aged like fine wine. Serving moody art boy with the Docs.

Set in New York City and following an adult McGuire as she navigates typical 20-something struggles, the revival is also confirmed to bring back its iconic animated Lizzie character, voicing the protagonist's inner thoughts and quips. Hopefully Gordo's presence implies the return of Lalaine as Lizzie's other BFF Miranda, although there's no confirmation just yet.

This is nice. What dreams are made of, even. Maybe we can go back in time and relive our favorite tween shows again. Maybe everything's okay! Maybe I can forgive Disney for that live action Lion King mess after all!
