Garbage's "Control": A PAPERMAG Video Premiere

Garbage, ladies and gentlemen, is back. And we're excited to be premiering the short-film for their new song "Control," the fourth track on their forthcoming album, Not Your Kind of People. This is the band's first record in six years, so the pop culture-sphere is quaking in its boots with anticipation. To sate your hunger before the album drops on May 15th, watch this Julie Orser-directed clip wherein lead singer Shirley Manson discuss the record ("Everybody keeps saying this album reminds them of the first record, and I think it's because it has that urgency that comes from the fact that we've lost people that are really close to us") and the song ("'Control' is about giving up the sense of having any control in your life... and committing yourself to that moment."). You can pre-order the album here. In the meantime, enjoy a video of Garbage performing "Queer" in 1995 on Top of the Pops.
