Explosions in the Sky's "Postcard from 1952" Is Our Music Video of the Day

Gary Pini

Pretty much all the music by this Texas four-piece is instrumental, so it works really well as the soundtrack to a well-crafted short film. That's really the case with this clip for "Postcard From 1952" -- and also the reason you hear their songs on TV shows like Friday Night Lights. Here the directors, Peter Simonite and Anna Gunn, jump from "stills" to motion with a sort of Instagram vision of nostalgia, without being too morose. The track is from Explosions in the Sky's album Take Care, Take Care, Take Care.
