Last night, Erykah Badu weighed in on an article about a New Zealand high school that's mandating longer skirts for girl as to not, uh, "distract" male teachers, tweeting that she agrees with the policy. Following the "don't tempt 'em" line of thought, Badu explained that we live in a society that naturally sexualize the bodies of young women, that men just can't help it and so the logical solution is to make these girls dress more modestly.

Which, naturally, sparked quite the Twitter debate. After all, our former cover star is "Fashion's Most Important Nonconformist", so while some supported her, many were quick to deride the style icon's argument as borderline slut-shaming and victim-blaming.

To her credit though, Badu has been fielding a pretty thorough discussion of the topic and continues to invite people to weigh in.
