Erté: A Retrospective of Limited Edition Works at Martin Lawrence Gallery -- Sneak Preview

Mark your calendars art deco fanatics -- next Friday and Saturday (November 11th and 12th), a retrospective of limited-edition works by illustrator Erté is opening at Martin Lawrence Gallery in SoHo. Erté -- née Romain De Tirtoff --is known as "the father of art deco" and, as the illustrator of Harpers Bazaar covers from 1915-1936, his works were pretty influential on the fashion world, even inspiring Yves Saint Laurent's 1976 Ballet Russes collection. The retrospective also marks the recent release of the book ERTÈ -- A Celebration by Charlotte Perman, with essays by Stella McCartney, Barbara Streisand and Twiggy. In the meantime, check out these gorgeous prints to be featured in next week's show.
