I stopped by the opening of our great friend and PAPER contributor from London, Nick Waplington at the Roebling Hall (606 W. 26 St.) and it was great. Nick has long been known for his photography and amazing books of his work like The Living Room and Truth or Consequenses. This show is his first in New York in six years and is quite a mix with hints of his past (casual documentation of his everyday life like this Indian take out here) with some huge formatted spooky vignettes/shots that are quite orchestrated. Nick's photographs are gripping and sometimes dark but he's a great talent and a good friend. (You can see his photos of our office on our contributor's page in PAPER every month!)
