4 Rising Designers Sketch Their Fantasy Halloween Costumes

With the last day of October finally among us, your social feeds will no doubt be filled with a range of costumes, from DIY budget-friendly looks to elaborate getups. Fashion designers are perhaps the best equipped to dream up the perfect Halloween costume, with the creative possibilities seemingly endless.

So in honor of spooky season, we asked four of fashion's rising, up-and-coming designers to send PAPER sketches of their ideal fantasy costume. Maybe you'll even get some last-minute inspo for tonight's festivities.

Wiederhoeft: Marie Antoinette

Jack Wiederhoeft's dream costume is a decadent Marie Antoinette if she were a floor lamp. "Not your grandma's lighting fixture," he says. The extravagance and opulence of this getup should come as no surprise to those who follow him as his designs are feats of fantasy in their own right.

Adonis King Collection: Morticia Addams

"This would be a look if they did a movie about the Addams family today," says Adonis King, founder of his namesake brand of ready-to-wear and accessories. The sketch offers a sexy spin on the fictional character, complete with a giant spider web motif and sharp cuts.

Nico Verhaegen: Ginger

Verhaegen opted toward a more novel approach for his Halloween sketch. "He's a very formal piece of ginger," says the Antwerp-based designer, whose menswear label was shown this season at the VFILES runway. The dapper root's relaxed white jacket is the cherry on top.

Luis de Javier: Matador

London-based designer Luis de Javier presents a "Matador Leather Daddy" complete with bull horns and corset. The choice of costume is fitting, as De Javier hails from Spain and his designs touch upon many facts of queer and club culture.
