As the brains behind Gnarls Barkley, Brian Burton, aka Danger Mouse, is the musical nerd of the hour complete with media friendly tall tales like claiming that his greatest influence was Woody Allen. Getting the star treatment in a Chuck Klosterman Times Magazine profile, "The DJ Auteur," as Klosterman dubs him, stops short of revealing the origins of his nom de game. Danger Mouse was a cartoon shown on British TV featuring a James Bondish rodent out to save the world from one imagined tragedy or another. Known to dress up as a cartoon character for photo shoots, his classic look is an obvious homage to the twee mouse.
