You can log in to see the podcast but I thought I'd let you know that the winners at last night's CFDA awards were a fun group: Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein for women, Trovata for menswear, Doo-ri Chung (at right)  won the Perry Ellis Womens Award and Thom Brown won the men's (both really good peeps) and our old friend Tom Binns won the best accessories. I think I may have blogged this a while ago but Doo-ri had special meaning for us PAPER Peeps. It must have been about ten or twelve years ago that a young just out of college very shy Doo-ri stepped onto the PAPER Fashionmobile in Union Square Park and pulled some dresses out of a garment bag to show us all what she was doing. On the bus that afternoon was Mr. Geoffrey Beene who immediately was entranced by Chung and decided he wanted to hire her as his assistant on the spot. And so off she went and the rest is history. Mr. Beene would have been very proud Doo-ri! (more photos and more about the awards are in Womens Wear Daily)
