SNL held back on the usually light cold open to its show last night, and instead cast member Cecily Strong paid a somber, but beautiful tribute to the 129 victims and 300+ casualties of the horrific terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday.

"Paris is the City of Light," Strong said. "And here in New York City, we know that light will never go out. Our love and support is with everyone there tonight; we stand with you."

The actress then recited the exact statement in perfect French, before saying, "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night"--a simple, heartfelt message of love for our French brothers and sisters.
