Billie Eilish's Neon Roots Are a Fall Hair Trend In the Making

Billie Eilish revealed a lot in her latest interview for Elle, including her personal style ethos and the culture of slut shaming.

"The point is not: Hey, let's go slut-shame all these girls for not dressing like Billie Eilish," she told the outlet, referring to her typically oversizes clothes. "It makes me mad. I have to wear a big shirt for you not to feel uncomfortable about my boobs!"

Accompanying this fiery interview was an elaborate photoshoot featuring the "Bad Guy" singer looking ultra stylish with neon green roots complementing her dark hair. While Eilish first debuted the look on her own Instagram earlier this week, the likes of Megan Thee Stallion and Halsey have also embraced the trend.

This isn't the first time the 18-year-old has experimented with zesty colors either. For the longest time, the musician had most of her hair dyed lime green. Previously, the young star also experimented with a light blue shade, which she admittedly hated. "Here's what's annoying: I hate the color blue — it's my least favorite color … I was told that whoever dyed my hair in October used a permanent blue so that s—t is not coming out," she told Buzzfeed.

"I have sat in that stupid salon chair for hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours trying to get that blue out and that b—h will not get the f—k out of my hair."

But given that not only has the singer inspired fellow musicians to adapt her brand new look, but has also stuck with it for a while now, it's safe to assume she doesn't despise green.

While it is fairly common for celebrities to inspire beauty looks, it'll be interesting to see how Eilish's bold new avatar morphs into a ubiquitous hair trend.
