Bikini Kill Post Previously Unreleased Track "Playground," Ready Revolution Girl Style Now! Reissue by Michael Tedder PAPERMAG 18 August 2015
<p/> <div><br/></div><div>Iconic punk group Bikini Kill has unveiled "Playground," a previously unheard track from their first recording, 1991's <i>Revolution Girl Style Now!</i>, <a href="http://www.papermag.com/2015/07/bikini_kill_revolution_girl_style_now_demo.php">which will be reissued on <span tabindex="0" class="aBn" data-term="goog_511713628"><span class="aQJ">September 22nd</span></span> via Bikini Kill Records</a>.  </div><div><br/></div><div>Available now <a href="http://www.rollingstone.com/music/premieres/bikini-kill-on-riot-grrrls-legacy-taping-over-nirvana-cassettes-20150818?page=4">via <i>Rolling Stone</i></a>, "Playground" is a bit sludgier than the tracks that made it onto <i>Revolution Girl Style Now!</i>, which the bandmates attribute to Pacific Northwest cultural osmosis; in an interview with <i>Rolling Stone,</i> bassist Kathi Wilcox says "We were definitely listening to the bands that were happening then. I'm sure we were internalizing that to some degree."</div><div><br/></div><div>In 2012, the former members started Bikini Kill Records to remaster and re-release their back catalog. <i>Revolution Girl Style Now!</i> will be available on CD, vinyl, digitally, and in a nod to the album's first format, a bright-red cassette.</div>
