Bicycles Bicycles at Adeline Adeline!

There are a ton of bike shops around the city, but there aren't any that cater only to female riders. We can thank Julie Hirschfield for changing that with her new store, Adeline Adeline. Located on a leafy block of Reade Street, Hirschfield's airy shop is lined with an array of candy colored vintage-inspired models from European brands like Pashley, Batavus and Retrovelo. Adeline Adeline also offers repair services and, Hirschfield hopes, will eventually hold maintenance workshops and rent bikes. The shop offers a collection of rider's accessories , including Nutcase helmets and Furoshiki Linen Bags, which you can sling across yourself for riding. We asked Hirschfield what she prefers to wear when she bikes, and though she told us "you shouldn't need a special outfit to ride your bike" she does have a few bike-friendly favorites. Above are photos from Adeline Adeline's Tuesday night opening, which included guests threeASFOUR, Henry Lau and Camilla Staerk, and after the jump, Hirschfield shares her answers.

"Bensimon Tennis Shoes come in lace up or slip ons in bright cheery colors and are perfect for kicking around the city this spring and summer." Retail for $55.00
"Furoshiki Linen Bags by Majikiriya. Asimple, linen carry-all tote that ties to wrap around your body or is carried just like any bag." Retails for $72.50
"We never leave the house without a Kleen Kanteen (18 oz, various colors) stainless steel water bottle to stay hydrated all day!"
"Of course rompers or jumpsuits always work well on a bike or anywhere. We particularly like the Rachel Comey Jumpsuit or the Isabel Marant Laura Romper."
