Uber has yet again proved itself to be the super villain of shared car ride services as its landed itself in hot water for an internal program titled "God View", which can track the location of Uber vehicles as well as customers who have requested cars in the past.
Samuel Ward Spangenberg, Uber's former forensic investigator, has claimed that the company has used the "God View" program to spy on "high-profile politicians, celebrities and even personal acquaintances of Uber employees, including ex-boyfriends/girlfriends, and ex-spouses," Spangenberg stated.
Beyoncé is among the all star clientele list whose movements have reportedly been monitored.
Spangberg isn't the only one who has expressed his concerns over the tool, venture capitalist Peter Sims has also accused the company of abusing the "God View" program. Uber has gone on to respond to the allegations by stating "fewer than 10" employees have been fired for abusing the tool.
