Late iconic TV and Broadway actress, Bea Arthur, is continuing to live on in her wonderful legacy of LGBT advocacy: a new center for homeless LGBT youth, which has been funded by the city with $3.3. million, is opening up in Manhattan's East Village.

The Golden Girl donated $300,000 in her will to the Ali Forney Center--an-already established center for shelter and counseling for homeless LGBT youth; the Bea Arthur Residence--an 18 bed homeless shelter, with added therapy services--will open its doors in February of 2017.
