'Pose' Star Angelica Ross Will Host LGBTQ Dem Debate

This year, for the first time in history, the democratic Presidential primary will include a debate dedicated entirely to LGBTQ issues.

The debate (presented by GLAAD, One Iowa, The Gazette and The Advocate) will be hosted by Angelica Ross, alongside GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis, reports Deadline. Ross is a trans activist, as well as one of the stars of Pose and American Horror Story, a resume that made history as the first of a trans actor to land two series regular roles on TV.

The pair will be well-equipped to keep Joe Biden, Cory Booker, Pete Buttigieg, Julián Castro, Tulsi Gabbard, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Joe Sestak, Elizabeth Warren and Marianne Williamson on track, as they answer questions about improving life in America for queer people.

"This LGBTQ Presidential Forum is a pivotal moment in the 2020 election cycle," said Ellis, via Deadline. "It's the first time that LGBTQ issues will be exclusively discussed by 2020 presidential candidates on a national stage. We look forward to hearing how the 2020 candidates plan to reverse the attacks and rollbacks of the Trump Administration and put LGBTQ Americans on a course to 100% acceptance."

The forum follows up a presidential forum on climate change that took place earlier this month. The event will be livestreamed from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Tune in on Friday at 8PM ET on YouTube.
