About Last Night... Dude, Where's My Couture?

Caroline Torem-Craig

For so many hip chicks, Juicy Couture has become the drug of choice in casual yet fiercely trendy apparel and accessories. And last night, Juicy founders, Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor, brought their cashmere, velor and fleece must-have tracksuits to a smart Fifth Avenue townhouse. As expected, some sweatpants had "JUICY" written over their behinds, as well as the appropriate presence of crests and royalty influenced "bling" in the house. But amidst the pitch black candelabra of ravens, the many vanilla iced wedding cakes and the super stocked high shelf bars, there was something quite different! There were celebs mingling and freely mixing it up, instead of their usual ways (putting in a quick, pained and heavily guarded appearance and rushing off tout suite). Rounding one corner I bumped into Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears with Gina Gershon, and while I was taking the snap someone yelled out across the room over the noise,"That photo's so PAPER!"
